PROJECT | Kent-Soh Home – new build COMPLETED | 2009
Sam
Teoh Architects designed a new double storey home for a young family who
requested the mono-pitched roof which creates a striking street presence
The
angular clean lines of the home provide a sculptural façade that stands
out, rather than being overshadowed by surrounding homes
The
kitchen is ideal for family time, with a central island bench providing plenty
of space to prepare
meals, eat breakfast or to gather around
The contemporary
kitchen designed by Sam Teoh Architects features a floating island bench
which provides
additional bench space whilst also making the kitchen appear larger
The
kitchen and dining area is connected to the courtyard
through floor to ceiling
glass with large sliding doors
A
courtyard was placed in the centre of the home, providing natural light and
protection from weather
conditions. During colder months, north sun penetration
bestows light and warmth on the living room
and morning light filters into the
kitchen and breakfast area from the east
Clean,
contemporary lines provide a modern
and timeless aesthetic to the bathrooms
